We have a lot going on (who doesn't?) so I haven't had much time to think about a coherent, full blog post. So you are getting snippets.

The other morning Peanut told the husband that someday she won't need him anymore. She wasn't trying to be mean, just trying to assert her 4-year-old independence.
I think a small part of my husband died.
She and I talked later and I told her that no matter how old she is, she will always need her dad. I still need my dad.

In other news that made my husband want to cry, it was announced yesterday that Columbus is getting an American Girl Doll store.
You know the dolls that cost $130, that you can get ridiculously priced accessories for, have their hair done at the store, have a tea party, get matching outfits, etc. No, seriously.
Both girls got Bitty Babies (the baby version of American Girl Doll) before they were even born from the husband's Nana. Neither of them have the actual girls since they are both so young. The store appears to be opening around Peanut's 5th birthday so I'm thinking a trip will be in order so she can pick out a doll.
Heaven help us.

Gizmo is picking up more and more words and starting to put them together into short sentences. Yesterday she kept saying, "Mammie and Pa go bye-bye."
We aren't sure if she wanted to go bye-bye to see my parents or if my parents are going bye-bye. I called to warn them that they might want to be careful.
Just in case.

Keeping the house clean for showings hasn't been nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. (Getting it showroom condition was the hardest part.) We've enlisted the girls' help. Well, Peanut's at least. She helps wipe down the table where we eat and picks up her toys. A lot of toys and other stuff went into storage so that has helped cut down on what we need to clean.
The good news is that we are seeing some interest and getting good feedback. Our neighbor said she talked to a couple who walked around our house the other day. They said they love it and they've been by a couple times. We think they are coming for a showing on Friday.
A few realtors came through today and had nothing but good things to say about the house. So far, the only negative feedback we've gotten is from the Debbie Downer realtor. So, fingers crossed this will be a relatively painless process.

Anna is only 3 but I am shielding her from th American girls as long as I can. Also Disney princesses. Usually the dolls and princesses win in the end.
What is UP with Debbie Downer realtor lady? She's bumming me out and she's a state away.
Rather randomly we get the American Girl Doll catalog at home and it freaks my shit out. So expensive! Kind of like a cult! You can even buy a beauty salon chair for the dolls.
Of course, I talk a big game now that Iris is oblivious. I'll probably fold like a house of cards once she gets hip to it all.
Anna literally ran screaming from the room when I tried to show her Cinderella, so I think we're safe for a while.
